Polish system of alcohol dependence and co-dependence treatment has been intensively improving during the last few years. The changes were done to the therapeutic programs as well as to the education process of our personnel. The base for those changes is a modern theoretical model which describes the alcohol dependence as a multi factor social disease with bio-psycho and social basis. According to this model the main aims of the therapeutic actions should be correcting the psycho-pathological mechanisms of the dependence, reconstruction of the disturbed social relations and the health treatment.
